Hi! I'm Myléne Hillam, resin expert, freelance designer for the craft industry and author of two jewellery making books.
My passion for resin can be traced back to my first year in high school and the manual arts department where I got to play - and fall in love - with plastics as an art medium. Sadly, resin wasn't part of the curriculum until the next year and I had to wait until 15 years ago when the opportunity to work with resin crossed my path again so I jumped right in, and I've been learning and creating with resin ever since.
Along the way, I've worked with major resin manufacturers in the US to produce their product videos, create educational materials for their clients and design numerous resin projects for their trade show booths. One of the fun things my expertise with resin has allowed me to do is to travel internationally to demonstrate resin products at trade shows.
My mission is to share what I know about resin with you. I deliver a quality and fun learning experience for beginners who want to have a go at working with resin. You'll be amazed at what you can achieve with the right guidance.
I love getting other people as excited about resin as I am. It's a truly addictive medium to play with and the possibilities of what you can do with it are endless.

It was a great learning experienxe, Mill gave a good knowlegde about safety standards for using resin. I was provided with a good guidance and excellent quality products to use. I am glad i got this good opportunity.

Outstanding in every way, and exceeded my expectations!
I was looking for a class that would give me a deeper experience than the common 'cheeseboard and coasters', and with take home products I would use. I found it with Mylene at Mill Lane Studios.
Mylene was fun, thorough, and outstanding at explaining and working with Resin. Her extensive experience and passion for the industry was obvious.
I was warmly greeted by Mylene who runs Mill Lane Studio from a professionally set up section of her home, and was lucky enough to be the only student - so was extremely spoilt with total one-on-one attention.
We created 2 different bowls/dishes + candle holder + multiple small objects (eg. gold leaf earrings), using 2 different types of resins, with a huge supply of colour options.
I had no clue what I was doing, but Mylene was extremely patient, made me feel at ease, and gave me plenty of time, with careful guidance, to work my way through some of the many processes and techniques of Resin making.
We went a bit over time which was another bonus - I completely lost track of the time, as I was having such a great time.
The class confirmed for me that working with Resin is a hobby I might look in to further, as it is a wonderful blend of chemistry and creativity - the reactions of the resins with the different forms of colours is beyond mesmerising.
The take home pack gives me the opportunity to try some more projects at home.
AND, I'll probably sign up for more!
