Reduce waste, create something usable and learn new skills at this fabric upcycling class! This 2.5-hour sustainability sewing workshop is suitable for beginners or those with experience.
In this class, you will have the choice of making a vegetable bag, tote bag or hot pack. We will discuss identifying fibres and discerning op-shop quality and colours.
Perfect for all skill levels, you will receive guidance on how to operate a sewing machine and learn basic sewing techniques. We also cater to seasoned crafters looking to have an introduction to a fun and creative community.
What you'll get
Learn how to use a sewing machine, to make better op-shop choices, to unpick without damage, to shape garments to fit you more comfortably, extending the life of garments and reduce waste, fibres and fabric construction, and how to make a simple bag.
Tools, threads, tape, machines and other materials provided.
Knowledge required
Beginner and experienced sewers are welcome. Students under 15 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
What to bring
Bring an old cotton shirt, sheet, or tablecloth to upcycle. Your teacher will also have some material to use.
Suitable for

This class is great for individuals and couples as well as for a date idea, birthday or hens party.

Suitable for adults, and kids (minimum 15 years old).

An adult must accompany any attending kids. The adult may observe at the class for free.
