Hello, my name is Soriya, and I own the Sewing Collective Studio here in Ocean Grove on the beautiful Bellarine. I opened this business on July 1st of this year. This new chapter really is a dream come true and a rebrand of my previous alterations and dressmaking business that I opened in 2019. My first business was predominantly alterations and dressmaking, and I would always have customers ask or inquire about teaching. Back then, I didn't have the space, but I came across this stunning property and fell in love with the location and natural light. And so, I decided to open up my atelier here, offering sewing classes and creative workshops as well as a retail section—selling fabrics, sewing tools, and notions. I have also fallen in love with teaching and sharing my skill in this dying art. My youngest student is 5, and I love seeing someone who has never touched a sewing machine be able to sew something and take home something they can wear or use. I really hope my studio becomes a real creative haven and sanctuary where it gives you the space and time to learn this beautiful skill.
