I’m Sonu, founder and creative director of Threads of India. For years, I’ve immersed myself in the timeless craft of traditional Indian hand block printing, spending hours with artisans, learning their techniques and designing collections that carry the soul of this ancient artform into modern fashion. Now, for the very first time, I’m bringing this incredible craft to Adelaide.

My workshops aren't just about printing patterns on fabric. They're about experiencing a centuries-old tradition that is as meditative as it is creative. You’ll get hands-on with beautifully carved wooden blocks with beautiful motifs, and natural non-synthetic colours which you will use to make something beautiful. Along the way, I’ll share the stories behind the art, how it’s shaped my journey and my brand, and why block printing has become such an important way for me to connect Adelaide to the artistry of Rajasthan, India. Whether you’re an art lover, a maker at heart, or just curious to try something new, this is your chance to slow down, create, and walk away with something truly personal and handmade.
