Throwing - the Next Step 4 Week Class

Done with the basics, it's time to take the next step.

5 x 2.5 hours

Class size 1 to 6 (public classes), 6 to 16
$295 (Afterpay & PayPal Pay in 4 available)

So you have already discovered the wonderful world of wheel-thrown pottery; now is the chance to take the next step and learn a bit more.
During the four 2.5-hour classes, our experienced teachers will guide you through each step of creating beautiful handmade pottery on the wheel. Participants can expect to create mugs, bowls, and plates along with other items along the way. Staff will bisque fire students’ work at the end of week 4, so you can then return at your leisure to glaze your pieces. We will complete a final glaze firing within 4 weeks of the course end, at which point we contact you to collect your food-safe, dishwasher-safe, oven- & microwave-safe items!
A 10 kg block of white stoneware clay, firing, and dipping glazes are all included in this class. All you need is your toolkit and the enthusiasm to succeed.
We limit this class to 6 people to ensure everyone has the necessary support of the teacher to best learn the techniques. The courses sell out quickly, so book early to avoid disappointment.
Please note: this is a class designed for adults who have completed either a Wheel Taster or 4-week course, and we do not allow bookings for children under the age of 16.
What you will learn:
Week One
  • Re-cap demonstration on wedging and centering
  • Making shapes from cylinders to form mugs
