5.0 (45)A couple of years ago while out on a walk, we realised we shared a desire to try ceramics as a way to distract ourselves from our professional careers - even if just for a couple of hours. Straight away we were hooked!
We became addicted with pottery as an after-hours passion, quickly buying our own wheels and set up a home studio. While experimenting with various forms, our focus was on making planters for all our plants.
Very soon, we had the idea of creating a green space to combine our love of gardening with our new found love of pottery. Late last year, we found our little urban garden nursery space and now sell local ceramicists work, along with our own.
We have a working studio above the garden nursery and have many friends requesting lessons. Pottery is a way to forget the daily pressures and meditate with clay for a couple of hours.
The studio is a calm and cosy space, welcoming anyone who has a desire to try ceramics.

The instructor, Tony, was informative and patient. We had a great time learning to throw pottery and managed to make 2 pieces each.

We booked the private class for our anniversary night. We will remember it our whole life.
Tony is an amazing teacher and quiet patient. The way he taught the techniques, we both will remember it. It was so much fun and therapeutic at the same time. And they will provide whatever you make with your name and date on the bottom, such a nice keepsake!
Highly recommend this activity and we will definitely take more classes in the future.

Has always been on the to do list to experience and partner and I genuinely had the best time. Couldn’t have asked for a better teacher than Tony. He was patient and incredibly informative; no doubt we’ll be back to do another class!

Was alot of fun and pottery is so peaceful in such a small group. Excellent teaching skills while also being very patient with us.
You really get a feel for what it's like as a hobby we may be hooked now.

Tony was a great teacher demonstrating and guiding all the finer points of pot throwing. Pleasantly surprised to have a go at three items. The venue and quality of products were perfect. Loved having the intimate class only for the two of us

A++ experience, teacher was an absolute legend. A class where you actually get to learn and be practical with great results - regardless of experience level.
A perfect and satisfying experience, felt completely comfortable and had a blast.
10/10 & would go back for another session!
(And the plant store connected to it is pretty great too)

The class was fantastic! Tony was very knowledgeable and spent the time explaining the process to us before we had a go and helped us make a beautiful planter and mug. We would do this again!

This experience was an 11/10! We did this as a date idea and can't recommend it enough to our friends and family now. Tony and Nicole were so hospitable and made the whole experience an absolute joy. From the class itself to the drinks and very generous grazing board following - this is an experience you cannot miss!
It was great to have a private class and Tony is great at being a hands-on teacher and very encouraging. It was our first time doing pottery and we would definitely want to do it again

Booked this experience to celebrate a milestone birthday and could not be more grateful for the experience offered by Plantonica. Tony was open and encouraging to both my friend and I. Both Tony and Nicole were incredibly hospitable and created a memorable experience. We enjoyed discussing the creative outlook on life and Tony’s personal journey with pottery whilst balancing a professional career, this was both incredibly insightful and wholesome. Myself and my friend are both looking forward to seeing our final products and hoping to return to the business of these lovely people as soon as we are able, thank you so much to Tony and Nicole for the services, we enjoyed ourself immensely! We had a fabulous time, Tony our teacher was delightful, calm and clearly full of experience. Tony was generous with his advice but still allowing us to make and feel mistakes, before getting the hang of throwing the clay. The venue was upstairs, above beautiful quaint plant store, we had lots of natural light. We highly recommend trying pottery and most definitely with Tonic Ceramics!

Such a great workshop, learnt heaps and got stuck in to the actual pottery. I didn't realise it was for couples i.e. one couple at a time! So that was nice, getting to know the teacher and having a lot of time and assistance. A gift for our anniversary, my husband loved it. Can't wait to pick up our trimmed and glazed pieces.
Enjoyed the grazing board too. Tony was a great teacher.

Tony was an amazing teacher who explained and demonstrated things with great skill and humour.
The small class size makes a real difference in the amount of attention you get and ultimately the end product.
