The art of tezhip is not just a passion for me—it’s a way of life that connects deeply with tradition, mindfulness, and personal expression. For me, working with my hands, using traditional tools and methods, carries an indescribable joy and sense of fulfillment. The process itself—each brushstroke, each intricate gold detail—grounds me, offering a quiet space for reflection and creativity that I hope to share with others.
When I lead my tezhip workshops, my goal is to pass on not only the techniques but also the meditative and mindful approach that comes with this ancient art form. Each participant finds their own rhythm in the process, discovering the patience and care needed to create something truly unique. It’s not about how fast or perfect the work is, but about finding peace and satisfaction in every step. Watching someone step back, beaming with pride at their completed design, brings me as much joy as creating my own work.
Sustainability is also central to my practice. The materials I use are thoughtfully sourced, ensuring that the paper, brushes, and pigments honor both the environment and the long-standing traditions of the craft. I believe that in respecting where our materials come from, we also deepen our connection to the art itself.
In everything I do, I aim to preserve the rich history of tezhip while inspiring others to embrace the beauty of creating with their own hands. There’s something truly special about knowing that each design is a reflection of both tradition and the individual artist.
