Tufting Workshop: Home Decor

Join this tufting class in Melbourne and learn how to create unique home decor projects! This workshop is designed for beginners, offering you a chance to try tufting on smaller projects before committing to larger ones like rugs, large mirrors or large wall art.Choose from a variety of home decor options on the day such as:

• A fluffy mirror frame
• A textured vase
• Crazy cool journal cover
• Wall art or home decor
• Keyboard rugs/pen holders
• Photo frame
• Keyrings
• A luscious mug rug to take home with you or gift to someone special

Choose two projects on the day and we'll show you how to lay them out on your tufting canvas to make sure each project has enough space.During the workshop, you’ll receive guidance on using the equipment and materials while creating something amazing. Class schedule:

• 1. Welcome and introduction to equipment and safety protocols.
• 2. Choose your design, use our stencils or BYO and draw it on your canvas!
• 3. Choose from a variety of yarn colours and start tufting!
• 4. Apply backing glue or latex to your rug and let it dry.
• 5. Learn how to level and carve to clean up your creation.
• 6. Adhere your creation to your home decor or attach felt backing for mug rugs or wall art. OFF
• 7. Show off your unique tufted home decor art!!

You’ll leave with a newfound skill and a beautiful handmade decor project to showcase in your home. Dive into this fun and creative activity of tufting in Bayside Melbourne at the cosy creative space Bayside Makerspace!Plus, did you know you can bring a buddy to share your frame and tufting gun, instead of making two projects you would make one each on one frame. This makes this taster tufting workshop super affordable. If you get the tufting bug, you can always come back on your own or join our longer tufting workshop!Please note: This workshop is a shorter intro to tufting. If you're looking to make a full custom 55cm x 55cm custom rug with your design, we offer a longer Tufting Workshop.
