We were a little worried beforehand because we’re not drinking at the moment and thought we might miss out on half the experience. Instead, we were able to join in by making some delicious mocktails. The dumpling making was so much fun. We learnt heaps of tips and tricks, from simple folding techniques through to more advanced styles. The instructor explained everything so clearly that it was easy to follow along. I also loved that we made far more dumplings than I expected! Once we’d finished, they cooked them three different ways (steamed, pan-fried and deep-fried) so we got to taste the different textures and flavours. There were so many that we couldn’t even finish them all! The host was fantastic. Friendly, knowledgeable and great at breaking everything down into simple, easy to understand steps. I’d absolutely recommend this class to anyone looking for a fun date night. + more

Cosy studio space was warm and comfy (and it was raining and freezing on the day). Genuinely surprised by how well the mosaic lamps turned out. You are making it and thinking 'i'm not sure how good this looks'. Finally, once you've grouted and cleaned and wiped and its dry, you get to see and enjoy the end result of your hard work; an amazing looking lamp that just blows you away. 10/10 class. I booked this class to celebrate an anniversary with my boyfriend and we loved our experience. We did the ‘Birds in the Tree’ class. Mark was super easy to organise with, and even accommodated for my anniversary idea of having a larger custom tree to share with my partner rather than two individual trees. Simi and Aybike were lovely and made the whole experience super memorable. They demonstrate first, and then you are hands-on and give it a go yourself. They were very encouraging and never hesitated to jump in and help when we were stuck. It does feel a bit daunting at first, and I wouldn’t expect your first bird to be perfect, but that is what made it so much fun! Each bird is unique and we got to choose the colours and patterns for them. They explained that the tree base is made from glass scraps from their studio, and the wooden base is sourced from the wood shop downstairs. It was super cool to know! We left the experience with big smiles on our faces, and a beautiful tree to take home. I definitely made a few birds I was really proud of, and my boyfriend loved his experience gift. I’d definitely recommend this for couples, friends or even singles looking to be crafty or learn a new skill. This is a wonderful and supportive environment to learn in. We will definitely be back for another workshop (hopefully some glass fruit and veg?). + more

My dad was a carpenter and had all the equipment and tools to make furniture but I was never interested in learning but I’m 50 now and my creative juices are flowing. Alma is an amazing teacher and guide she helped me make a candle holder and I feel like I have accomplished something dad would be proud of.
