Ross encouraged us to embrace the imperfection of our work which was very freeing and fun. Everyone’s work turned out great and unique. As a group, it was nice going outside and doing some on-location urban sketching. Zetta Florence is a beautiful store and the staff were all friendly and welcoming. The supplies, light refreshments and take home workbook were all of excellent quality.

All quality painting and sketching materials were provided, with good explanatory advanced notes to take home, and refreshments were available. Ross was a skilled teacher, who obviously thoroughly enjoys the art of sketching streetscapes, while offering great and encouraging feedback. Additionally, the class included a $20 voucher to spend in the beautiful Zetta Florence shop.

I really enjoyed going out and being able to test urban sketching properly and he explained and guided us through everything so passionately it was infectious! A class I will definitely recommend to family and friends. It was the perfect way to test the waters of a new hobby!!

He also gave a good overview of urban sketching and tips on how best to go about it, starting with two pen-and-watercolour paintings of buildings in the local area. We were kept 'fed and watered' (coffee, teas, biscuits, muffins) by lovely Zetta Florence staff, and it was very nice to be given a $20 gift card towards buying art supplies, or anything else, in the shop afterwards. A great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
