If you've never heard of it, visible mending is exactly what it sounds like - the reparation, restoration, stitching, darning and fixing of garments and household items in a visible and revealing way. Perhaps we could describe it as a beautiful scar. Â
In this hands-on sewing workshop, you will learn how to visible mend common items, for example, holes in t-shirts or socks, or rips in jeans or sheets. An experienced and friendly teacher will show you a collection of visible mending stitches and different ways to mend that you can use and practice. For example, you'll explore stitching, patching, embroidery patterns, sashiko and mending devices.
We believe visible mending has a very important role in this fast-paced and modern society we currently find ourselves in. Learning about it can help you:
