1-Basic Techniques

We start by learning the basic watercolour techniques needed to create our beautiful flowers.

1-Loose floral

1-Loose Floral

We continue our session by exploring and practising more techniques through loose-style watercolour flower painting, experimenting with splashes and embracing the beauty of happy accidents. This first step is all about becoming familiar with the medium, relaxing, and enjoying the creative process.

2- Flower with black outline

2 - Flower with Black Outline

After learning a few techniques, we continue painting flowers with more control, adding pen outlines to create detail, contrast, and definition in the artwork.

Here’s an updated version that incorporates your unique loose and quick approach while keeping it professional and suitable for ClassBento:
Join us for an immersive watercolour flower painting class in Melbourne, designed to transport you into a beautiful, watery world of colour, creativity and expressive painting.
Led by Sherry, a local watercolour artist with nearly 15 years of experience, this workshop introduces you to a Loose & Quick Watercolour Painting Style — a fresh and encouraging approach that helps complete beginners create beautiful artwork from their very first session.
Sherry uses simple, effective techniques that make watercolour feel approachable and enjoyable. Even if this is your very first day holding a watercolour brush, you’ll be guided step by step to create several beautiful floral paintings that you can take home, frame and proudly say, “I painted this on my first day!”
Rather than spending several sessions learning techniques before completing a painting, Sherry’s approach combines learning and creating from the beginning. You’ll explore essential skills such as brush control, colour mixing, water control, textures, splashing techniques and loose floral brushwork, while learning to embrace the beautiful, spontaneous effects and “happy accidents” that make watercolour so special.
The focus is not on making everything perfect — it’s about learning how to let water and colour flow, gaining confidence with your brush, and discovering just how much you can create in a short amount of time.
No previous painting experience is required. Complete beginners are very welcome.
All materials are provided for use during the class, so there’s no need to bring anything with you.
A minimum of 4 participants is required for the class to run. If the minimum number is not reached, the class may be cancelled and a full refund will be provided.
Due to food safety and health considerations, no food will be provided. You are very welcome to bring your own snacks and drinks.

Please note: Public dates for this class require at least 4 guests to run. Greetings, I'm Sherry, an artist of watercolors and a guide in the vibrant city of Melbourne. The world of watercolors has revealed itself to be a realm of immense healing and boundless joy for me. It all began in 2011 as a simple hobby, but over time, it has blossomed into an unwavering passion that now graces each day of my life. Within the sanctuary of my personal home studio, I bring to life my creative visions.
My heart finds solace in painting enchanting flowers, drawing inspiration from the gentle whispers of nature to craft breathtaking landscapes. Additionally, the charm of cityscapes, bustling streets, and the stories etched onto the faces of people find their way onto my canvas. I extend a warm invitation to you to join me in this creative haven, where the intricate dance of color and water upon paper gives birth to exquisite artistry.
Allow me to be your guide as I share my techniques, enabling you to create your own masterpiece, a creation that you can proudly adorn your surroundings with. For a glimpse into my artistic journey, feel free to explore the links below.
