  • 4/5 from Kris, attended Jun 2026: High Tea Midweek. Four stars. Overall, great food, and very friendly staff. Minus one star on two counts. 1. We arrived before our 2pm start but didn’t see any food before 2:35. 2. No staff visits to check on us within that time, despite the room becoming relatively quiet by that time of the afternoon. Murphy’s Law, the table behind us got served first even though they arrived after us! As mentioned, the savoury and sweet foods were just splendid once to hand, save for the vanilla bean scones which were on the dry side. The petite ham and cheese croissant was a highlight for me, along with the firm but tasty triple chocolate brownie. My partner raved about the sweet potato croquette. Points to the staff who were attentive and genuinely engaging, once on hand.
  • 5/5 from Sophie Lyons, attended Nov 2025: High tea at a chocolate factory was something unique for my mother and I and we were so pleasantly surprised at the high quality of the food, service and atmosphere! It was an absolutely wonderful experience, and no pressure to rush as we were able to take home what we couldn't finish. The chefs came out to explain what they made and the staff went over and above to provide a top experience. 10/10, a hidden gem along the great Ocean road and we will definitely be back!!!
  • 5/5 from Elanna Williams, attended Sep 2025: A wonderful High Tea Experience. Amazing friendly service, delicious food and drinks and the special touch of education about the chocolate process for a special treat at the end. Our server was attentive and guided us through the menu, encouraging us to try all the options. They even offered to take photos of us with the full table set up. Booked online using our ClassBento gift card, which was quick and easy to do.
  • 5/5 from Anna Xia, attended Aug 2025: Astounding value! Exemplary service! Finest craftsmanship chocolate and pastries! I’ve run out of words, this high tea experience so unsurpassed in excellence. Berry and mint punch to start. Comprehensive menu of teas and coffees plus hot chocolate in dark, milk or white. By the way all the drinks are unlimited provided you have the room after the extensive hot and cold tasty bites on offer. So beautifully presented, each piece of tasty morsel comes with its own introduction. As a final finale we welcomed the French head chocolatier Camille who gave us some insights to the work behind the scenes that goes into making their chocolate such a great success. With additional tastings of course. So much food, we have enough to take home for another fancy meal at home. Special thanks to the Chocolaterie and the wonderful staff who made this experience a thorough pleasure

How it all began
In 2012, husband-and-wife duo Ian and Leanne Neeland transformed a Yarra Valley property into The Chocolateries Yarra Valley, turning their dream of a chocolate haven into reality. Now, with over 480 handcrafted chocolates, artisan gelato, decadent brownies, and delicious hot chocolates, it's no wonder over 1 million visitors each year come in to experience the place where passion meets chocolate – right in the heart of Victoria.
Our evolution
Following the sweet success of The Chocolateries Yarra Valley, a second destination was launched along the Great Ocean Road in 2016, and a third Chocolaterie launched in Flinders on the Mornington Peninsula in 2018. Each offers an irresistible experience of handcrafted chocolate, artisan ice cream, and freshly made treats.
Discover the Sweet Delights of The Chocolateries Great Ocean Road
Discover over 480 handcrafted chocolates, including truffles and Australian twists, made by skilled European chocolatiers. Enjoy freshly churned gelato, rich brownies, barista-made coffee, milkshakes, and silky hot chocolates. Join daily Tasting Sessions, explore Chocolate Discovery Classes, or let kids get creative in Junior Chocolatier workshops. We’re just over an hour from Melbourne, twenty minutes from Geelong on the Great Ocean Road between Torquay and Anglesea. We’re open every day from 9 am until 5 pm, except Christmas Day. Visit for an unforgettable chocolate experience!
Crafted with Love, Rooted in Responsibility
At The Chocolateries, our philosophy is rooted in love and abundance. We craft our creations using 100% sustainably sourced and ethically farmed cocoa. Partnering with Cocoa Horizons to support cocoa farmers through education and sustainable practices—we ensure every chocolate treat we make is as responsible as it is delicious.
