Meet the Winemakers and Taste the New Releases
Kaspar and Mike pour and talk you through each wine as you go, covering where it started (the vineyard and soil), how it was made, and the calls they made in the cellar to get it into your glass. Ask as many questions as you like, this is as hands-on as tasting gets.
Flavour and Food Pairing

Rochford Wines has been making cool climate wine in the Yarra Valley since 2002, when owner Helmut Konecsny took on a 13-hectare vineyard on Hill Road, Coldstream, planted back in 1992. The property has since grown to four vineyard sites, including Isabella's and No.9 in Gruyere and Toolangi in Dixons Creek, all farmed around balance and sustainability.Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon are where we do our best work, and our Winemaker Masterclass is where we get to talk about it properly. Led by winemakers Kaspar Hermann and Mike, the hour-long session walks you through our newest release wines, covering the vineyard and soil they come from, how they're made, and how to match them with food. It's tasting alongside the people who actually make the wine.We're set on 13 hectares in Coldstream, home to two restaurants, a cellar door and one of Victoria's best-loved outdoor concert venues, so there's always a reason to stay on after the class.
