Hi, I’m Amanda Vallance, the founder of Avian Adventures Australia. I launched the business in 2022 after discovering how birdwatching and photography could bring calm, focus, and a deeper connection to the natural world. What began as a quiet interest quickly grew into a full-time passion.
I’m a bird photographer and a budding ornithologist. My camera has taken me from suburban parks to remote bushland, always in search of that perfect moment of light, behaviour, and feather detail. Every image is a chance to learn, to share, and to inspire curiosity in others.
As a proud Wiradjuri woman, this work also holds cultural significance. Birds are part of our stories and our connection to Country. Sharing that through images and guided walks allows me to keep learning while giving back in a meaningful way.
While I am not a mental health professional, I’ve seen how birdwatching and photography support wellbeing, especially for children and young adults on the autism spectrum. My sessions are inclusive, relaxed, and focused on curiosity, patience, and observation.
Whether you are picking up binoculars or a camera for the first time, or simply want to see more of the world around you, I’d love to help you discover the joy of birding through a new lens.
