Connection & Intention
We begin by meeting each other in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
You’ll be introduced to the natural materials we will use and guided to connect with them through touch and observation.
This first step is about slowing down, tuning into your intuition, and setting the foundation for your sculpture.
Building the Form
In this session, we continue developing the piece started in Week 1.
You’ll learn fundamental handbuilding techniques, including how to join different parts of the sculpture using traditional methods.
We focus on shaping and structuring your form, creating a strong base for your piece without adding fine details yet.
Refinement & Finishing
In this final session, we complete your sculpture by adding subtle details that make each piece unique.
You’ll be introduced to basic decorative techniques, attachments, and how to use tools to refine your work. We will also explore an introduction to burnishing, enhancing the surface and preparing the piece for its final stage.
Your sculpture will then be left to dry in the studio, ready for its transformation through fire in our wood-firing kiln.
Firing & Final Transformation
After the drying process, your piece will undergo a wood-firing in our studio kiln — a transformative stage where fire, time, and natural elements leave their unique marks on each sculpture.
Once fired, your piece will be carefully finished and sealed with a natural beeswax coating, making it more resistant and enhancing its surface. This entire process is handled by Elemento Ceramics Studio.
When your sculpture is ready, you will be contacted to arrange collection of your finished piece.
