Art For Wellbeing Together

I am Michelle, a Visual Arts Teacher with over a decade of experience teaching Art in a range of settings, including for those with additional needs. My passion for using Therapeutic Art techniques in my lessons began after witnessing the declining mental health of the young people I was teaching. I completed a Foundation Course in Art Therapy back in 2018. These skills were almost essential after the COVID pandemic, and I have been developing my practice ever since. I decided to start 'Art for Wellbeing Together' after experiencing the devastating loss of 2 miscarriages in 2022. It was such a lonely and difficult time that affected my own physical and mental health so much that I struggled to function. I found that my own Therapeutic Arts techniques, alongside other support, really helped me to recover and find my feet again. By painting, journaling, drawing, and crafting, I felt calmer, more in control, and like I was achieving something for me. It didn't change what happened, but it definitely made it easier to manage. I'd just wished there had been a group I could have joined with other women who had similar experiences to me, where we could have made Art Together and supported each other to recover. I would have felt much less alone. This is where Art For Wellbeing Together came from. My workshops are a safe space where people can connect through Art making and shared experiences. I guide you through a range of Visual Arts activities that encourage mindfulness, self-expression, and creativity. No experience required.
