Avant Garde Character Drawing

Hi there, I'm Alex, and I'm a Melbourne-based visual artist and life drawing teacher. For the past 10 years or so, I have been doing set and costume design for theatre and working as an event stylist.By working in the event industry over the years, I have been involved in all sorts of crazy setups. But my favorite was working with our costume department, creating the costumes, wigs, and makeup for the performers, only for them to be seen for maybe 20 minutes and then never to be seen again! So much blood, sweat, and tears for a little moment in time!It inspired me to create my own set of characters and put them in a life drawing setting, giving myself and others the chance to sit with them a while longer and enjoy the colorful world before us.I feel passionate about reconnecting to the sheer joy of drawing and quieting the inner critic. I am here to help you reconnect to your creative nature and just have some fun!
