Looking for a vibrant and fun life drawing class in Melbourne for your event? In this creative workshop, you will learn how to reconnect with your inner creativity, boost your self-confidence and refresh your drawing skills through playful exercises and colourful characters. You will create vibrant life drawings to take home, along with a renewed sense of creative joy.
You do not need to worry about your drawing skills - everyone is welcome, and having fun is the main thing. You will gain an insight into how to approach life drawing in a relaxed and encouraging environment, letting go of the notion of a perfect drawing while rediscovering the joy of self-expression.
If you have a venue organised, we can come to you with our model, costumes, backdrop, lights, art materials and experienced drawing teacher to bring it all together. Just choose a character and we will come to you:
  • The Rococo Queen
  • The Art Nouveau Queen
  • The Carnie Ballerina
  • The Red Empress
Over the two-hour session, you will take part in a playful activity designed to help you learn how to draw with greater confidence and freedom. You will work with art materials provided for you, explore expressive poses and enjoy the colourful, welcoming atmosphere. We can work with you for whatever your focus might be, whether you are refreshing your drawing skills, encouraging self-expression or simply enjoying a creative experience with your event.
By the end of the session, you will experience a sense of growth and development in your artistic abilities. You will feel proud of what you have created in just a few hours and leave with renewed self-confidence, a refreshed sense of creative joy and your vibrant life drawings to take home.

For those who want to dip there toes into life drawing, this is a great start! Location was relatively easy to get to via tram and walk. Since the material was provided for and the mini practice exercise were provided for, it was a good value. (Also can have a sneaky vuppa while your there ;))

The rocco queen costume was exquisitely detailed and such fun to draw! Alex had gone to so much trouble creating the large Marie Antoinette-inspired wig alone. We did a number of warming up exercises which were great ways to prompt my memory of techniques I had previously learned but forget to apply. Alex was lovely and helpful with providing us tips in our works. She even provided some lovely cakes and macaroons for afternoon tea. This class has really improved my confidence. I'll definitely come back again when she has another class.

Hi there, I'm Alex, and I'm a Melbourne-based visual artist and life drawing teacher. For the past 10 years or so, I have been doing set and costume design for theatre and working as an event stylist.
By working in the event industry over the years, I have been involved in all sorts of crazy setups. But my favorite was working with our costume department, creating the costumes, wigs, and makeup for the performers, only for them to be seen for maybe 20 minutes and then never to be seen again! So much blood, sweat, and tears for a little moment in time!
It inspired me to create my own set of characters and put them in a life drawing setting, giving myself and others the chance to sit with them a while longer and enjoy the colorful world before us.
I feel passionate about reconnecting to the sheer joy of drawing and quieting the inner critic. I am here to help you reconnect to your creative nature and just have some fun!
