Weaving

If your mountain of craft supplies is reaching Everest status, this workshop offers the perfect DIY storage solution. Don’t become a basket case; weave one instead.

Aside from producing functional and beautiful works of art, basketry offers relaxation and contemplation while keeping your hands busy. You’ll come away with the skills to create bespoke storage solutions to suit your supplies, your space, and your life.
Unwind, artfully solve your storage problems, and learn an age-old skill. This class will cover the coil and stitch method of weaving, a quick and easy way to create a plethora of attractive vessels and lids. More complex techniques such as twinning will be demonstrated throughout the class. Breathe in, breathe out, and watch your own creation manifest in your lap.
Please note: This class requires at least five students to run. In the unlikely event that we don't get this number of students, we'll cancel the class and fully refund you and inform you via email, so please watch your email a few days prior to the class.

Please note: This venue is located on the first floor via a flight of stairs and does not have wheelchair accessibility.

Roz from Be Kind Textiles

Roz from Be Kind Textiles

4.8 (14)

After graduating from Textile Design and Development at RMIT, where she majored in weave and printmaking, Roz sought to distance herself from the questionable ethics of fast fashion and textile waste. Using sustainable methods and ethically-sourced materials, she produced an austere range of high-quality garments under the brand Be Kind Textiles. Driven by an unquenchable passion, Roz spent the following years delving into every craft within her reach. She now proffers her results and lifelong love of art and textiles with anyone who’s willing.
