What you'll do
Learn the basics of screen printing in Melbourne. Have a go at printing your own one colour design onto paper, and walk away with your unique design on a set of archival paper.
If you would like to print on fabric, please check out our Beginners Screenprinting Workshop on Fabric, which coincides with this event. Max 7 people, 3 for fabric and 4 for paper.
Led by artist and educator team Matt and Sarah at Troppo Print Studio, Melbourne's only Screenprint Specific open access space.
Feel like you have a good grasp of printmaking? Try our Printing Intensive, and learn more about the technical aspects of screen printing.
What you have to do:
Send your artwork to Troppo 2-3 days before workshop date and we will prepare it for your arrival to the workshop.

This workshop is suitable for anyone who wants to try the medium.
What you'll get
- Film positive
- Practise paper
- Access to ink and tools for printing
What to bring
- Wear closed-toe shoes and suitable clothing for printing in. We do provide aprons, but sometimes a blob of ink goes astray.
- Pen and paper
- Additional paper you would like to try printing on.
- If there is a specific colour you would like to work with, bring it.
- You will need to send a single-colour A4 max size artwork by email to Troppo, 3 days prior to the workshop.
Suitable for
This class is great for individuals and couples as well as for a birthday or hens party.
Suitable for adults, and kids (minimum 12 years old).
Adult accompaniment is not required.
