Join our hands-on and fun workshop on how to forge and assemble a beautiful copper and steel rose. We are located in the heart of Melbourne and we are all about working with metal!
This metalworking workshop is ideally suited for couples wanting to spend some creative time together but singles are welcome too!
You will learn how to form a stem from mild steel using traditional blacksmithing techniques and proceed to cold form the rose petals from copper sheeting and finish up by assembling and affixing the petals to the stem.
Don't worry if you've never tried metalworking before, our experienced teacher will guide you every step of the way and you'll be safely instructed on creating something truly unique which will be yours to keep.
Different options are available, make one rose together or make one rose each. If you are choosing couple pricing, purchasing one ticket for $360 or $460 allows access for you and your partner to attend.
If after your session, you find yourself wanting to extend your skills, you may want to explore our

Steve offers a rare mix of passion, effervescent energy and a love of people, resulting in memorably experiences where everyone feels welcome...
And then... there is Harry, the resident forge hound with an equally sunny disposition who will greet you at the door with a big smile and wet nose!
Steve discovered the colourful world of blacksmithing in Belgium, during a midlife sabbatical. Upon return, with two big anvils and a legvice under his belt, he set up a forge in Footscray's picturesque Water's Edge Arts Precinct.
In 2013, he initiated Australia's first Blacksmiths Festival, now being held biannually on the banks of the Maribyrnong River and run by a team of volunteers.
Steve has a degree in Earth Sciences, studied blacksmithing at the Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, obtained a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and is currently completing a Certificate in Industrial Blacksmithing at TAFENSW.
Apart from teaching, he also offers a well equipped space for members to come together and forge.
