During a midlife sabbatical, Steve discovered the colourful world of blacksmithing in Belgium. Upon return, with two big anvils and a legvice under his belt, Steve set up a forge in Footscray's Rivers Edge arts precinct to share his love for the craft. Steve has a degree in Earth Sciences, a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment

Thoroughly enjoyed our time with Steve, made a very functional steel piece within the time and didn't feel rushed but our whole group still finished right on time. Very well equipped studio.

Loved it! Steve is super friendly, encouraging, and has fascinating stories to tell. The studio is located on the riverbank with a stunning view. Steve designed the workshop in a way that is very achievable in 2hrs for first timers. If Steve offers more casual classes, I'm definitely eager to check them out. Not to mention the cutest and goodest boi Harry keeping us company the whole time <3
