Continuous Strand Weaving Workshop

In this workshop, you will discover the fabulous craft of continuous strand weaving! You will go home with your choice of a hat or neck warmer to keep you cosy, made from lovely soft yarn in your choice of a beautiful selection of colours. This form of weaving does not involve any setting up, warp or weft; you simply begin, and as the yarn crosses and weaves, it creates the most gorgeous patterns!The simple repetitive flow of over-under-over-under is incredibly relaxing, and once you quickly get the hang of the process, you can chat with your friends, sip a drink, and look down to find your loom nearly full! Or it can be a lovely mindful experience—you can focus on the soft yarn flowing through your fingers and the pattern forming and let the world drift away.Yarn can be chosen from a full rainbow of colours in brights and pastels, as well as neutral shades of black, cream, grey, etc., to make a truly one of a kind woven piece. You are also welcome to bring along your own special yarns if you have some stashed away waiting to be turned into something fabulous!Looms are available in multiple sizes:

• Tiny (newborn/doll) 40cm circumference
• Small (baby/toddler/little kid) 50cm circumference
• Medium (big kid/small adult) 56cm circumference
• Large (big kid/adult) 60cm circumference

All neck warmers will be large size. If you choose tiny or small and work at a reasonable pace, you may have time to make two!There is a bit of stretch and give in the sizing (all people pictured are wearing large size) If you are concerned about fitting a particularly large or small head, please measure around the head where the edge of the hat should sit (in cm) and contact me to discuss the appropriate size. If in doubt, choose the bigger size up; it's better to be loose and comfy than too tight, and babies and kids will grow into things!

Please note: Public dates for this class require at least 3 guests to run. In the unlikely event that we don't reach this number, we may cancel the session; if that happens, we'll inform you and let you choose between a refund or reschedule, so please watch your email/SMS one day prior to the class.
