Hi, I’m Samantha. I’ve been teaching for more than 30 years, and watercolor has become a huge part of my life. Personally Penned & Painted grew from my love of traditional, hands-on skills and my desire to share them with other people.I’m a formally trained calligrapher and self-taught watercolor artist. I love teaching, particularly beginners, and seeing that moment when someone who thinks they “can’t paint” suddenly realizes they actually can.I’ve taught hundreds of students over the years, and I still get a real buzz from seeing people develop their skills and confidence.I’m also a bit of a traditionalist. I love beautiful materials, hand-painted work, traditional calligraphy, gold gilding, and techniques that don’t involve a computer doing the work for you!Most importantly, I want my classes to be relaxed, friendly, and fun. I’m still learning myself, and I think that’s part of the fun.
