  • 5/5 from Ashley Ronning, attended Sep 2026: A really unique and magical class. Hahnie set a calm mood in the room which allowed me to relax and focus on drawing. The costume and props of the model were fantastic.
  • 5/5 from Fiona Rose Fox, attended Sep 2026: Excellent vibes
  • 5/5 from Albie, attended Sep 2026: The session leader Hahnie, was great! Coming with a wealth of knowledge if you're keen on character development and world building as well as the live drawing aspect. It was such an exciting change to draw in a world of fantasy figures, I thoroughly enjoyed it, and keen to see which characters will be next in upcoming sessions. I didn't need to bring anything. It was all supplied with a great variety of drawing mediums, boards and paper.
  • 5/5 from Cassidy Brown, attended Sep 2026: The class was so much fun, I loved the novelty of drawing a fantasy figure and Harnie was a great host and created such beautiful atmosphere for the class.
  • 5/5 from Nicole McGuffog, attended Sep 2026: Such a fun weeknight activity! The class was very relaxing and calm, great for beginners as well as advanced drawers, as you can self direct. Having a fantasy-focused model makes this so much more engaging than the usual life drawing class. Will definitely be back!

I’m Hahnie — the designer and fabricator behind Makers Haven, a high-fantasy, world-building workshop where artists dream up, then fabricate their own props, costumes and artefacts. With over a decade's worth of experience in costume design and fabrication, I specialise in creating headpieces and masks, however, I take delight in any project that allows me to roll up my sleeves and bring imaginative ideas to life. My skill set includes sculpting, casting, hand building ceramics, woodwork, prop making, puppet making, scenic painting, and art finishing.
Being able to assist individuals in designing and fabricating their projects is something I adore. I consider myself extremely lucky to be involved in such a rewarding practice.
