The Pattern Making Class was founded by Glen Rollason and Scott Bowring, who together bring more than 55 years of experience across fashion design, pattern making and garment production.
Scott has spent over 30 years working with Australian and international fashion brands including Sussan, Myer, Brooksfield and Cameo the Label, while managing large-scale production in China. Glen is an RMIT Fashion Design graduate and lectured there for 21 years across undergraduate and Masters programs. Early in his career he worked in the pattern room at Chanel, later winning Melbourne Fashion Festival's Young Designer of the Year for his labels ROLLASON and RUDEBOY.
Together they run RB Patterns, Melbourne's leading freelance design and technical consulting studio. Their clients include Country Road, Camilla & Marc, Wrangler, Portmans, Perri Cutten and A.Emery, as well as organisations including Emirates, ACMI and the National Gallery of Australia.
The Pattern Making Class was created to give aspiring makers access to practical, industry-current skills without committing to a full fashion degree. Every class is taught using the same methods Glen and Scott apply daily in professional practice, helping students build confidence through real-world techniques that are relevant, accurate and immediately useful.
