Maker Social - You and Muse

'You and Muse' will hopefully be the first of many social art events at Not Core Space. The intent behind these events is to facilitate community, provide a ready and accessible art studio, a prompt, and some time. These will be unguided; you will be free to spend the 2 hours however you like. The prompt is there, and it's yours to do with it what you please. You can bring your dinner, your headphones, your parent, or a book. Your time will be yours; spend it focused on your canvas or spend it collaborating with new people.Have you ever been at a café, on a train, or in a park and tried to draw a stranger co-existing in the same space as you? This first event’s prompt is reference from life (portraiture). There will be a life model, sitting or standing, reading, drawing, watching their phone, eating dinner, going about their night while still offering themselves to be referenced in your artwork.These events are completely BYO art supplies. Bring your paper, your pens, your pencils, your paint, whatever you need to create. You could be a working artist or someone who hasn’t picked up a pencil in a decade; everyone is welcome.
