This guided photo walk is designed to teach you how to confidently shoot in manual mode. We’ll explore the Melbourne City streets while covering the technicalities of your camera, including shutter speed, aperture, ISO, manual mode, and exposure.
The aim of this photo walk is for you to build confidence behind your camera, perfect for beginners or photographers looking to sharpen their eye and shoot with more intention. You will be able to ask questions as you shoot, get live feedback, and learn how to make creative decisions on the fly.
We'll also go through the fundamentals like rule of thirds, leading lines, framing, and foreground interest, and more importantly, when to break them.
During the workshop, you’ll learn:
  • Basics of a digital camera (ISO, aperture, shutter speed, and exposure)
  • How to find strong compositions anywhere
  • Camera settings explained simply, in context
This workshop is ideal for beginners, hobbyists, content creators, and creatives wanting hands-on learning.
Please note: This class is for those who already own a DSLR camera or mirrorless camera. We will bring a spare tripod, but it is recommended to bring your own if you want to.
What you'll get
A two hour lesson on how to use your camera in all modes, leaving you with the confidence to go out and photograph the world around you.

With over a decade of experience in live music photography and product photography and a strong passion for street photography, I know exactly what it takes to think on your feet when taking photos.
Now my mission is to pass on that photography knowledge to like-minded people and pass on the same excitement I get when shooting photos, whether that be in a studio, venue or street setting.
I do my best to explain everything in simple terms and make sure everyone who takes my classes walks away with a better understanding in both the technical AND creative aspects of photography.
