She was so helpful and encouraging and taught us many skillwe did not know. It was great value for the money and the tables were well set up. Although the venue was a little noisy, we soon forgot about it as we became engrossed in painting our masterpieces. Thanks Diane for a great experience. We'll be back for sure.
  • 5/5 from Sam Matkar, attended Oct 2024: Good place, nice DJ and value for money event, very helpful teacher and guiding all the way giving enough time. enjoyed the drinks.
  • 3/5 from Kylie Azzopardi, attended Jul 2024: Too many participants 26 for 1 teacher is unworkable Venue not suitable for activity. Bar stools, in the cold, crammed in barely room to lift arm to paint. Teacher did their best in difficult location and with too big a gap in abilities of participants.
  • 3/5 from Sharlene Barker, attended Jul 2024: Class didn’t start on time. Found it difficult to keep up with teacher. Some tips on best way to hold brushes would have been helpful.

  • 5/5 from Mark Burns, attended Apr 2024: Great class. Everyone who attend enjoyed the class immensely. Fun, good company, great friend participation
  • 5/5 from Sandra Burns, attended Apr 2024: A group of walking friends decided to partake. It was fun sitting together and comparing our finished product. The trainer- Diane was excellent and she coped with a large group of 30 participants. The Gumdale tavern is a great venue.
  • 4/5 from Dianne Porter, attended Apr 2024: 28 participants, 1 tutor. Please add another assistant who could ‘rove’ around and help, answer questions, give tips. All staff at this venue were new and it caused a delay to the start time by 15 mins meaning a slow set-up. As a rule of thumb I feel you should have a tutor plus extra helper for over 15 participants. If the venue want the added bonus of participant drink/food orders that could be made clearer at the start of the session. Maybe the venue staff could make it easier by being proactive and helpful. The tutor did a great job considering the number of people. It was enjoyable with our group. Maybe add another better quality pointed brush.
  • 4/5 from Karolinao Bradovic, attended Apr 2024: We went to Gumdale Tavern - ALL PERFECT - BUT TOO FAR UNABLE TO SEE TOO WELL - struggled too see painting, so became frustrating as attempt to look closer, so much that had to get up and walk near painting to see - IDEA: PERHAPS SOMEHOW MAYBE HAVE A BIG TV SCREEN OF TEACHER PAINTING :) - there was a big TV there, so perhaps hook it up to the TV this I am sure all sip & paint attendees will agree & love :)
  • 5/5 from Emily Butt, attended Jan 2024: My sister and I had such a great time at Bayside Saturdays, once again! The atmosphere was super relaxed and our instructor was really encouraging. Can’t wait to do another!
  • 5/5 from Paula Ann Webster, attended Oct 2023: A fun way to spend a couple of hours! The instructions were easy to follow and we were well looked after.
  • 5/5 from Sharon Kemp, attended Oct 2023: Teacher was excellent very helpful and understanding. She gave good feedback and helped me with understanding how to create the right colours. Unfortunately, the session time was a little short for what we wanted to achieve (paint your pet) as you strive for it to be better as you have more personal attachment to the painting. The venue was perfectly located and overall I would do it again.
  • 4/5 from Vanit Ivess, attended Oct 2023: Duane was a lovely host. A little tricky to hear at times.perhaps a headset microphone and blue tooth speaker in the middle of the table could be a solution. We thoroughly enjoyed our fun afternoon. Extra great value if you get the early bird special. All materials supplied were more than sufficient. I ended up adjusting mine at home. Thank you team WTAS
  • 5/5 from Kylee Brehmer, attended Sep 2023: We attended the class for my 50th birthday. The teacher was awesome and took a photo of us at the end with our paintings. It was very easy to follow and when we did make what we thought was a mistake she showed us to to improve it. The venue at gumdale tavern was relaxing and the food and staff were very helpful.
  • 5/5 from Mijin Park, attended Aug 2023: I had a really great time. It was my first time for a painting. The teaher was so kind and professional. She helped me a lot to finish my painting
  • 4/5 from Sheryn Martin, attended Aug 2023: Teacher very friendly & helped us when we needed, which was a lot. Venue very noisey at bar, so hard to hear where to go next

Providing social art classes in beautiful South Brisbane

4.7 (2,502)

I'm a Brisbane-based artist, and I've been painting and drawing since my early childhood days. I was fortunate to receive a scholarship from the Queensland Art Gallery, which gave me ample opportunity to pursue my passion and hone my skills.
I'm very much inspired by the beauty and diversity of Australia. Many of my paintings focus on landscapes, surrealism, animals, and people. North Queensland is a particular favorite, and you'll see the influence of coral seas and mountain landscapes throughout my artwork. I have a post-impressionist style through which I try to capture the wonder of the world around us.
I specialize in pastel on card and acrylic on canvas, though I'm also experimenting with abstract and airbrush.
I've been fortunate enough to display my work in many art exhibitions and have been the recipient of many prizes and awards.
I offer Paint and Sip sessions along with Clay and Sip sessions, both at discounted rates for ClassBento Patrons. I believe in bringing these experiences to the customer at the very best competitive price possible, the real Australian Way. We have the largest range of paintings available with over 80 paintings on the gallery page of Wesley Taylor Art Studios, with the painting for each week found on the web page.
We hope you enjoy these sessions for a fun experience. The paintings are creative for maximum impact of colors, while keeping in mind first-time painting experiences. Those with a little more practice will create some amazing pieces.
Let us plan your special events!
“Everyone has an artistic flair and simply needs to be pointed in the right direction."
The Wesley Taylor Art Studios Mission initially set out to create workshops at half the cost of other workshops for customers to be able to enjoy the experience of creating a piece of artwork. This endeavor was to create the foundation of employing artists with a like-minded sense of assisting customers to enjoy this time out while creating new art experiences. The goals of value for money for customers and employment for artists to run these fun activities that may mark a milestone, a birthday, a hen's party, a social activity, a first date, or company team-building events to build and strengthen relationships with a common bond of creating something new.
