Learn like an apprentice florist in Melbourne!

1.5 hours Class size 10 to 25 guests

$65 ($75 per guest when you book for 1 guest, $65/guest for 2+ guests)

Join in once or come regularly to our monthly floristry class and learn like an apprentice florist from Cassy, of Flowers for Jane in Langwarrin!
Here Cassy, a qualified florist with 27 years' experience in the industry, will teach you floristry just like she has taught previous apprentices on the job. This is the perfect class for beginners or if you've attended a more advanced class and then want to practise - practice is the way to becoming a great flower arranger.
Each session is designed for someone starting out in flower designing. We will focus on either bouquet techniques or arrangements made in a vessel.
If the class has low numbers you'll be able to watch Cassy create arrangements for orders, offering you a broader understanding of the floristry industry.
This is a perfect way to get experience in a florist or if you want to enter the industry. This opportunity allows everyone to work at their own pace and have time to practise because practice makes perfect.
Working with a variety of fresh flowers and greenery provided, you will have the chance to make the arrangement of the month. Or, you may just use it as a time that you set aside regularly to practise the floristry skills that you've learnt in our other classes.
By the end of the session, you will not only enhance your floral design skills but also leave with a unique creation to take home and admire.
This is a unique floristry class where Cassy invites you into her studio during business hours and you'll get to see how an online florist or flower delivery service runs.
All flowers and sundries are provided and you'll get to go home with your creation. This class is perfect for those wishing to see if they'd like to become a florist or want to learn to arrange to beautify their home.
Come to the classes regularly and you'll learn how to make many different styled arrangements, wrap flowers and tips and tricks of the trade.
As previously mentioned, every month is different alternating between bouquets and vessel arrangements.

What we will be making
August classes - Cottage garden pot of blooms
"This arrangement is shaped like a crescent moon or a 'C' when viewed from the front. The flowers curve in an arc from one side to the other, with the tallest blooms in the middle and shorter ones tapering down at both ends. It's designed to be front facing, creating a curved line that draws your eye across the arrangement."
September classes - Handheld spiralled posy with gift wrapping
"This small, round bouquet is designed just like a little wedding bouquet. The flowers are arranged in a spiral pattern, where each stem is placed at an angle to create a twisted, swirling effect when viewed from above. The stems are cut short and wrapped with decorative paper or fabric, making it the perfect size to fit in a short, wide vase. It's compact, neat, and ready to give as a gift."
October classes - Asymmetrical Vibrant Garden Bowl
"This flower arrangement is purposely uneven and off-centre. Instead of putting flowers equally on both sides, most of the blooms are grouped to one side at different heights. This creates a more natural, relaxed look that feels like flowers growing in nature rather than a formal, perfectly balanced design."
November classes- Long stem brightly coloured Strauss bouquet
"This elegant bouquet features long-stemmed flowers arranged in the Strauss style, which creates a structured, formal look. The stems are kept at their full length and arranged so the flower heads form a rounded, dome-like shape at the top. The long stems are bound together and designed to fit beautifully in a large, tall vase. You'll also learn how to properly gift wrap this arrangement with decorative paper and ribbon for a professional presentation."
