All Hallows' Eve Watercolour Workshop

Step into the spooky and enchanting world of watercolour and learn how to paint your own atmospheric Halloween scene in this beginner-friendly workshop. In this three-hour class, you’ll be guided through a series of Halloween-inspired studies, exploring how watercolour can be used to create glowing light, soft atmospheric effects, rich shadows, and spooky details. Whether you’ve never picked up a brush before or want to build your confidence with watercolour, this workshop will give you the skills to create your own haunting artwork.You’ll begin with guided exercises exploring:

• Creating transparent layers of colour
• Building light and shadow with watercolour
• Creating soft edges and atmospheric effects
• Using wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry techniques
• Creating the illusion of glowing light

Once you feel comfortable with the techniques, you’ll move into four Halloween-inspired studies. You’ll learn how to:

• Paint a dimensional pumpkin using layered washes and shadows
• Create a soft, translucent ghost using delicate washes and negative space
• Paint a spooky melted candle and create the warm glow of candlelight
• Create an atmospheric night sky using wet-on-wet techniques, blending, and splattering

In the final portion of the class, you’ll put your new skills to the test with a self-led Halloween artwork. Using the techniques and elements you’ve learned throughout the workshop, you’ll create your own spooky scene — whether that’s a haunted cemetery, a moonlit pumpkin patch, a mysterious forest, or something entirely your own.You’ll have the freedom to combine the elements however you like and add your own Halloween-inspired details, making your final artwork uniquely yours.Please note that this workshop requires at least two bookings in a session to run.Late Arrival PolicyPlease arrive on time for your workshop. To ensure the session runs smoothly and out of respect for other participants, a maximum grace period of 5 minutes will be provided after the scheduled start time. If you have not arrived within 5 minutes of the workshop commencing, your booking will be considered a no-show, your place may be offered to another participant or the workshop will continue without you, and no refund, credit, or transfer will be provided. If you anticipate being delayed, please contact Broomstick & Brush Studio as soon as possible. While every effort will be made to accommodate unforeseen circumstances, late entry cannot be guaranteed once the workshop has begun.
