  • 5/5 from Emma Jones, attended Sep 2026: The wheel throwing workshop was a lot of fun! The instructions were clear and help was given when needed. I like that we had a lot of time to refine what we were being taught.
  • 5/5 from Donna Flanigan, attended Sep 2026: Thank you for a great class. I highly recommend as an introduction to pottery.
  • 5/5 from Linda Evans, attended Sep 2026: Charlie, thank you. As a first timer learning to handle clay on a spinning wheel, you made the experience very enjoyable. I felt at ease & comfortable learning something new. The one on one time you gave each of us when we had query or needed assistance was great. I think I'll be losing the finger nails so I can enjoy more classes!!
  • 3/5 from Chanel Grant, attended Sep 2026: Class was great but I almost fell backwards off the step at the entryway when getting up from the wheel. my friend did actually fall backwards and landed on her back which was very sore the next day. This is a very concerning OHS issue where these wheels are placed and could have resulted in a much worse injury

Great sized class of 6-8, our teacher came to help us throughout. Highly recommend this experience to others, we had so much fun!

  • 5/5 from Carly Stafilis, attended Feb 2026: I’ve been dreaming about making pottery since I did it as an elective in high school…. And this didn’t disappoint AT ALL!! Our instructor Lulu was so knowledgeable, patient and helpful that not once did I feel silly. She explained everything in a simple way and was more than happy to help rectify problems that arose. Class size (5) was small enough that we got as much help as we needed. The 2.5 hour timeframe was perfect, allowing plenty of time to get a feel for everything. We were able to make as many pieces as we wanted, and then choose 4 to keep. There were two choices of glaze for the completed pieces and they’ll finish them off and fire them for us to collect in the coming weeks. I don’t have another class to compare this to, but I don’t need one - this is PERFECT! I can’t wait to go back and do another one. Cones is a small local business run by Charlie would clearly cares about his customers and delivers a range of fantastic services/classes. If you want an afternoon of fun and challenging creativity then this Wheel Throwing class is for you….!

  • 5/5 from Melissa Carney, attended Feb 2026: Great instruction and assistance from Lulu. Plenty of time to make and experiment with your own pieces. Highly recommend.
  • 5/5 from Yuliia Zaslavskyy, attended Feb 2026: It looks easy on YouTube, but in real life it is very tricky. I learned a lot from this session. I would recommend that everyone go and try it for themselves. A fun and messy time is guaranteed, with spills and clay everywhere.
  • 5/5 from Katie Zhou, attended Feb 2026: Really well run workshop by Charles who was very accomodating and friendly - beautiful bright studio space and good amount of time to make various creations!
  • 5/5 from Arvind Nagarajan, attended Feb 2026: It was such a fruitful class, especially as a couple activity. Charlie was very helpful and his run through was very thorough. I love that there's a lot of free time given for the attendees to play around and get used to the wheel. All in all, great class and would definitely do something like this again.
  • 5/5 from Anna Shin, attended Jan 2026: Loved my experience - will be back! Wished I lived more locally for a proper course
  • 5/5 from Anouk Piso, attended Jan 2026: We came for a 30th birthday party and had a great time. Some of us had done it before and others were new to pottery but Charlie made sure to teach all of us some new things. We’ll definitely be back!
  • 5/5 from Miranda Zhang, attended Jan 2026: Loved that we could make as many products as we liked in the time available from which we could then choose three to have fired and take home. Charlie was a great teacher too - although he made it look a lot easier than it is… I have a much greater appreciation for hand thrown pottery now!
  • 5/5 from Dillon Wan, attended Jan 2026: Charlie was a great host at Cones Studio. Very friendly, and happy to help no matter how hopeless the student (that would be me!). A good fun afternoon with plenty of opportunities to try making things.

At the end we chose 3 pieces to be glazed and put in the kiln for us to pick up in a few weeks time. Thanks Charlie!
  • 5/5 from Tammy Freadman, attended Jan 2026: Such a great experience! The time flew by without anyone noticing.
