  • 5/5 from Susan Frisby-Smith, attended Jul 2025: Amazing class! Loved the creativity and connection to nature
  • 5/5 from Margaret Wallace, attended Jun 2025: Jacqueline the teacher was amazing. She has so much knowledge and made the workshop really fun. The venue was perfect set in the bush behind the Gold Coast. A perfect setting for such a workshop. Plenty of room to spread your work out. It was great to learn the interaction the leaves have with different elements....a craft but also so scientific. I think the best part was to see the amazing results of the leaves on the fabric and the different colours and that you are able to take your masterpieces home. I would highly recommend.
  • 5/5 from Karin von Behrens, attended Jun 2025: I absolutely loved this. The teacher’s knowledge was seriously impressive and the class was delivered in a fun, friendly manner. The venue host was warm and welcoming and we had some good laughs while meeting new people. We also walked away with a number of beautiful printed scarves, the value of which was probably as much as the class itself.
  • 5/5 from Mary-Ellen Jackman, attended Jun 2025: So incredibly supportive and collaborative
  • 5/5 from Debra Quinn, attended May 2025: The eco leaf natural dying workshop was informative and fun. It delivered a fresh perspective on dying and has changed the way I approach projects. Eve my bushwalks now have an added dimension. Jacqui our instructor was inspirational. She is very experienced in textiles fashion, pattern making and more. She enthusiastically shared her knowledge with the group. I added finishing touches to my scarf a day or so after the workshop. I love it!
  • 5/5 from Lorri Lewis, attended May 2025: Absolutely loved this class- Beautiful studio- relaxed and enjoyable surroundings Class was packed full of terrific information and knowledge and I feel very comfortable going forward to do more of these lovely crafts! Hi, I’m Jacqueline — a textile artist, fashion designer, and pattern maker specialising in eco printing, natural dyeing, felting, and contemporary textile art. I run Tweed Valley Textile Company in the Northern Rivers, where I teach hands-on eco printing workshops, felting workshops, and textile art classes inspired by nature, fibre, and slow creative practice.
My journey began in the fashion industry, where I spent decades developing garments, drafting patterns, and refining my eye for fabric, fit, and construction. Although I loved fashion design, I gradually became drawn to the expressive, sculptural possibilities of fibre art. Working with merino wool, silk, and natural materials opened up a new creative path — one that blends design expertise with the intuitive, organic qualities of eco dyeing, colour, and texture.
Eco leaf printing and felting remain at the heart of my practice. I love the moment when a silk bundle is unwrapped to reveal botanical prints, or when loose merino fibres transform into a solid 3D felted form. These processes feel grounding, meditative, and deeply connected to the environment — and that’s the experience I share in my workshops.
As an experienced fashion designer and pattern maker, I bring technical knowledge to everything I teach. My background includes working with Australian and U.S. labels, producing custom garments, and teaching at TAFE NSW and other schools. Today, I combine my industry experience with my passion for eco printing, felting, and textile design, offering workshops where beginners and creatives alike can explore fibres, colour, and natural materials with confidence.
I love helping people discover their creativity. Many students arrive saying they’re “not artistic, ” yet leave with beautiful eco-printed textiles, felted sculptures, and the joy of learning something new. My classes are friendly, welcoming, and designed to help you reconnect with hands-on making in a slow, mindful way.
If you’re interested in eco printing, felting, textile art, or simply want a meaningful creative experience in the Northern Rivers, I’d love to welcome you into my Northern NSW Studio.
