If you’ve ever wanted to learn to paint but weren’t quite sure where to begin, or you’re already painting and would love some one-on-one guidance, this class is for you!Private painting classes are a relaxed, hands-on way to learn at your own pace, with the entire session tailored to what you would like to work on. Whether you’re completely new to painting, would like help developing a particular skill, or have a painting you’re already working on and feeling a little stuck with, we can design the class around you.You might like to learn the basics of painting in the medium of your choice (watercolour, oils, or acrylics) from the beginning, work on colour mixing, understand light and shadow, practise painting more realistically, or bring along a reference image and work towards creating your own finished painting.What we can work onDepending on your experience and what you'd like to learn, we can cover:

• Getting started with oil paints and understanding your materials
• Colour mixing and creating clean, vibrant colours
• Understanding value, light, and shadow
• Brushwork and different ways of applying paint
• Creating realistic form and dimension
• Breaking complicated subjects into simple shapes
• Working confidently from reference photographs
• Landscapes, flowers, still life, portraits, and more
• Planning and developing your own painting
• Troubleshooting a painting you're already working on

Or something completely different! The lovely thing about a private class is that we can shape the session around your interests, experience, and goals.Never painted before?Perfect!You don’t need any previous painting experience to come along. We can start right from the beginning and work through everything step-by-step, without the pressure of having to keep up with a group.If you’re a little more experienced, we can skip the basics and spend our time working on the areas you’d really like to improve.What you'll get

I’ll bring the painting materials and equipment we need, so you can enjoy your lesson from your own space.Mobile classes are available within the surrounding Melbourne area, with travel fees starting from $25 depending on your location.Whether you’re picking up a paintbrush for the first time or looking for some individual guidance with your existing work, come along and let's paint!
