Cassy is thrilled to offer you a thorough and inspiring introduction to floristry. We'll explore everything from the foundational principles of flower care to the different techniques of advanced design, ensuring you leave with a comprehensive and versatile skill set.
In this six-week course, you'll:
  • Progressively master a wide spectrum of floristry techniques including wiring, using fruit or dried flowers in design, building a strong and adaptable foundation for your floral endeavours.
  • Acquire hands-on experience with techniques to create mechanics and/or base constructions, directly applicable to both crafting beautiful home arrangements and excelling in professional floristry.
  • Master the art of selecting fresh, vibrant, and long-lasting flowers, gaining a deep understanding of seasonal availability.
  • Discover essential techniques to ensure your arrangements maintain their stunning beauty, perfect for creating lasting displays in your home or business.
  • Gain an understanding of creating arrangements for personal enjoyment and acquire the insights needed to create commercially viable designs.
  • Explore the creation of arrangements with dynamic movement and personality, understand the differences between commercially grown and homegrown flowers, and learn practical considerations for transportation and budgeting within the floral industry.
At the end of each class you'll take home your own beautiful arrangements, a diverse and valuable skill set, and the confidence to passionately pursue your floral journey. Not to mention a great start to your portfolio.
Weekly workshop overview - building on skills each week.
1. Bunches, Bouquets and Posies - Different construction methods.
2. Blooming bowls and ceramic pots - Foam, frogs and chicken wire.
3. Wired for beauty - Flower crowns, headbands, corsages and buttonholes.
4. Statement Vases - Flower and Colour groupings incorporating succulents, gumnuts, fresh fruit etc.
5. Wreaths of the Wild - Rustic dried foliage wreaths
6. Elevate your table - from classic bridal table flowers or centerpieces. Putting your style on traditional construction techniques.
(Class won't be held on 'Kings Birthday public holiday' and resume the next week)

Knowledge required
Beginner-friendly. 15 years and over. You will learn the knowledge all good florists know.
Must have the skill to use cutters or secateurs and walk around uneaven ground.
Bathroom NOT wheelchair assessable and located in the pool house 200m from studio.
What to bring
  • An apron is optional.
  • Closed-toe shoes are required - no thongs or sandals.
  • Notebook if you like.
