Make a Didgeridoo on Country: A Workshop

We created Wandering Country because creating with a hands-on approach has always felt like coming home. Our crafts both grew from years spent travelling across Country — learning from nature, from cultural practitioners, and from the quiet moments where creativity and culture meet. There wasn’t one big turning point; it was a slow, steady calling that kept pulling us back to earth, stone, seed, pigment, and story. My own business Drift & Stone began as one betta fish and the feeling that I could do so much better by it, growing into aquascaping and then terrariums.We are passionate about teaching because we love watching people soften into creativity. Whether it’s a didgeridoo, terrarium, a coolamon, a bracelet weave, or an opal necklace, there’s always a moment where someone’s face lights up and they realise, “I made this.” That moment never gets old. Workshops feel like gentle gatherings — a place to reconnect with nature, culture, and your own imagination.I co‑create many of our experiences with my business partner and cultural practitioner Rhan Hooper, whose knowledge and guidance shape our cultural art workshops and didgeridoo experiences. Together, we bring a blend of nature craft, cultural respect, and hands‑on learning that feels personal and grounded.Over the years, we have taught hundreds of students — families, kids, adults, corporate teams, and community groups. We’ve run workshops at cafés, markets, festivals, and creative spaces across Australia, and we’ve spent years developing our skills in opal jewellery, natural stone crafting, terrarium building, and nature‑based art. Many of the materials we use — seeds, stones, pigments, timbers — are gathered respectfully on Country, with permission and cultural guidance, so every workshop carries a story of place.We love creating spaces where people feel welcome, inspired, and connected. Wandering Country is our way of sharing the beauty of nature, culture, and creativity with others, and we are grateful to invite you into it.
