Looking to have some fun in Brisbane? Join Wesley Taylor Art Studios for a pottery class like no other!
In this workshop, you'll learn the art of hand building with clay while sipping on your favourite drink. It's the perfect activity to unwind and explore your creative side.
During this beginner-friendly pottery class, our experienced artists will guide you through the process of working with Earthenware clay. You'll have the freedom to create your own unique pieces, learning essential skills like hatching, sticking together, and shaping forms. We'll even provide you with stoneware pottery clay for sculpting.
Our studio is all about personalised attention, so you'll receive one-on-one guidance and assistance as needed. Our artist will showcase a demo at the front, ensuring you have all the inspiration you need to create stunning pieces to take home and display with pride.
All the materials you need for your pottery masterpiece will be supplied, so you can focus solely on bringing your artistic vision to life. And don't worry, we've got you covered with our Covid Safe Plan, which includes social spacing and the option to purchase aprons in advance.
Choose from a variety of session times throughout the week, including Friday nights, Saturday mornings, Saturday evenings, and Sunday afternoons. You can even BYO drinks if you opt for our City Myer Centre studio sessions. Plus, for the full-service experience, we offer kiln firing services and ceramic pottery painting sessions in our professional pottery studio.

Our City Professional Pottery studio has All Fired up Kiln Firing services as optional extra, we also have full ceramic pottery painting sessions $15pp Earlybird tickets for final ceramic glaze firing $20 for the ultimate final ceramic piece.
Upgrade with Painting in the same session, plus includes 2 x Firing with Bisk & Glaze. We will glaze your piece service for pickup in 4 weeks
At check out add, Upgrade paint $50 per person. Includes all firing services, and you get to paint the piece with under glaze in the same session. You don't have to come back to paint the piece. All in one service.
COVID Safe Plan: Social spacing in place. Aprons will no longer be provided, however available for purchase in advance.
Minimum 7 people required to run sessions. Bookings in advance are essential.
The city studio is byo drinks and food, at uptown (myer centre) studio sessions. The centre is renamed uptown, we are on level 1, with 6 x studios, you will be advised of your studio space closer to the booking day.
The clay is creative session where we give you ideas sheets of what to make. yes you can put in requests and make what you want.
Your given a cardboard tray to take your clay creations away on the day, however, In Brisbane city, uptown studio, we do have a firing service which is $25 per piece per person upto 12cm round half tray size, that would be paid on the day for whoever wants this service
If you get your piece fired. We also have ceramic paint and sip sessions, public sessions run 7 days a week only $15 earlybird tix, plus additional $20 per piece for final glaze firing. If you wish to take your pieces all the way through the pottery process. This can be done on an individual basis to book in on sessions. The pieces need to be fired to do the painting sessions, or we do have pre-made fired pieces to paint from $25 including the final firing

We offer kiln firing, aprons, and platter orders with up to 7 different type of platters suitable for 10 people at $145. Catering Available with platters from $14.50 per person for 10 people.
Birthday Cake, Free for bookings of 7 people or more. Mud Caramel or chocolate depending on availability. (includes candle, napkins, plates, cutlery) Option to purchase $50 for smaller groups.

Let us know if you're coming to celebrate a birthday, with the tick box on checkout. We have Complimentary Birthday Gift bags for you then. Does not matter if you're on your own or with plus others. Every Birthday outing gets a special magical gift.
For larger groups of 7 plus we also have the Birthday cake at no cost, or for smaller groups under 7 people this is $50 which includes plates, napkins etc
The studio is still byo drinks and food. We have platters available for advance ordering if that makes it easier. We only provide plates and napkins for our platters, otherwise it is also byo plates, cutlery, and glassware. We have paper cups available in every session.

He ignored me several times when I asked him something and seemed more interested in other people than in me, maybe because I speak another language. Very poor service for him! The class was good, but I didn't feel comfortable with that teacher. HORRIBLE.

I'm a Brisbane-based artist, and I've been painting and drawing since my early childhood days. I was fortunate to receive a scholarship from the Queensland Art Gallery, which gave me ample opportunity to pursue my passion and hone my skills.
I'm very much inspired by the beauty and diversity of Australia. Many of my paintings focus on landscapes, surrealism, animals, and people. North Queensland is a particular favorite, and you'll see the influence of coral seas and mountain landscapes throughout my artwork. I have a post-impressionist style through which I try to capture the wonder of the world around us.
I specialize in pastel on card and acrylic on canvas, though I'm also experimenting with abstract and airbrush.
I've been fortunate enough to display my work in many art exhibitions and have been the recipient of many prizes and awards.
I offer Paint and Sip sessions along with Clay and Sip sessions, both at discounted rates for ClassBento Patrons. I believe in bringing these experiences to the customer at the very best competitive price possible, the real Australian Way. We hope you enjoy these sessions for a fun experience. The paintings are creative for maximum impact of colors, while keeping in mind first-time painting experiences. Those with a little more practice will create some amazing pieces.

The Wesley Taylor Art Studios Mission initially set out to create workshops at half the cost of other workshops for customers to be able to enjoy the experience of creating a piece of artwork. This endeavor was to create the foundation of employing artists with a like-minded sense of assisting customers to enjoy this time out while creating new art experiences. The goals of value for money for customers and employment for artists to run these fun activities that may mark a milestone, a birthday, a hen's party, a social activity, a first date, or company team-building events to build and strengthen relationships with a common bond of creating something new. Each dandelion in the field represents a thousand possibilities waiting to be released into the wind. Just relax and be free with the wind.
