Jaf was warm, welcoming, knowledgeable, and allowed and helped me to fully embrace my own style and ideas. The private setting helped; after setting me up and getting me started, Jaf was tinkering away at her own creation while being there with advice and guidance whenever I needed it. During the workshop, I made a ring from wax that moulded around a gem stone I had brought. I also used a few additional stones Jaf had available. Jaf then organised getting the ring cast in the metal of my choice and finished it off by setting the stone I supplied and polishing it (I assume). And as a bonus, she took a couple of glamour shots of the ring that I got to see before picking it up (attached here so people can look at more than just the wax version, but all credit for those gorgrous pics goes to her) Thank you for everything - advice, helping me create what was in my head, and the chats we had during the session ️

I was thrilled to find out it was a one on one session, and from beginning to end Jaf was so warm, patient, a barrel of laughs and super encouraging of my creative expression (and trusting the process!). Jaf had so many cute gems to choose from and set up the perfect chill environment to learn a cool new skill. I can see why she has a community of loyal students around her. Jaf guided my science mind to free style create which was so different to anything I normally do. I had a wonderful time making a pendant (of my dog's nose print) and ring, I look forward to receiving the finished product. The work space in Fitzroy was friendly and welcoming, with Jaf's husband, gorgeous dog Chass and other artists in their work spaces. A very relaxed fun afternoon. With one on one instruction I didn't feel self conscious at all.

Being able to explore creatively by making any style ring you like was amazing, the hardest part is choosing a design! Jaf makes it so easy to feel confident quickly in the wax casting process, and offers her assistance should you get stuck. The vibes were nice and meditative, the conversation was a lovely surprise. If you’re keen to try this type of jewellery making I highly recommend this class :)
