1 hour Location Guys Hill Class size 1 to 6 (public classes), 5 to 12   $30 - $45 ($30 for Small Pot; $45 for Per Large Pot)

Choose your pot, choose a seat in the tram, and enjoy a relaxed paint-a-pot experience in a vintage tram. In this creative experience, you’ll learn how to paint and decorate your pot using supplied acrylics, explore your own ideas and create a unique piece to take home on the same day, whether you’re completely new to painting or simply looking for a calming activity.
This class is self-directed, so you can work at your own pace without pressure to create a particular design. Karen will set you up with your supplies and provide everything you need to begin, making it easy to learn the basics and enjoy the process. You can choose from the available pots, settle into your preferred seat in the tram and paint as many pots as your heart desires.
You’ll be working with:
  • A pot of your choice
  • Supplied acrylic paints
  • Painting materials and equipment
  • A relaxed vintage tram setting
  • Karen’s assistance as you get set up
Price is per pot. Take your time, experiment with colour and patterns, and enjoy the experience and ambience as much as the art form. There’s no need to worry about being an experienced artist - the focus is on having fun, expressing yourself and discovering how enjoyable a simple creative activity can be.
Once you’ve finished, your pot will be sprayed and sealed for protection, ready to be taken home on the same day. You’ll leave feeling refreshed and proud of what you’ve made, with a personal piece of art to brighten your space and a memorable workshop experience to enjoy.

Hi, I’m Karen Alsop! I am a world renowned photographic artist. But in recent years clay has become my creative adventure. There’s nothing I love more than taking wild local clay, Puffing Billy ash, and reclaimed materials and turning them into unique, story-filled pieces. Every texture, every imperfection, tells a story, and I love helping others discover that magic for themselves.
I’ve taught hundreds of students across various art forms, run team workshops, and guided first-time enthusiasts to confident creators. In my classes, it’s all about exploring your creativity, having fun, and leaving with something you’re proud of.
When I’m not teaching, I run the Story Art Gallery inside Melbourne’s historic Tram 772, where my ceramics, photography, and mixed media creations come together, and I lead The Heart Project, helping volunteers create portraits for children in hospitals. Art isn’t just what I do—it’s how I connect, create, and celebrate life.
Join me in a class and experience the joy of shaping clay, telling your story, and making something truly yours.
