Q: Is Blacksmithing dangerous?
Before the start of every beginners session your instructor will take you through a safety induction. You will also be monitored throughout the session. Your clothing will be assessed for safety too. The likelihood of injury does exist but is extremely low .

The item you make varies depending on the assessment of your instructor but is always something that allows you to learn several skills that a blacksmith employs. Taking it home and using it for years to come is important

Note about safety - Wear a cotton shirt (synthetics are potentially flammable). Makesure your jeans fit over the tops of your closed-toe shoes or boots so nothing hot can fall in.Safety glasses and earplugs are available, or bring your own. Bringing your own leather riggers glovesis a good idea or use ours. Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. Fridge available.Arriving 5 minutes early is helpful too
