  • 5/5 from Mick Holden, attended Sep 2026: Was a lot of fun!! Had my class rescheduled due to not enough people but they made the process very easy. Learnt a lot about glass blowing in the session. Nick was a fantastic teacher, nerves of steel with all us amateurs slinging molten glass around. Would give more stars if I could.
  • 5/5 from Violet Hamence-Davies, attended Aug 2026: Absolutely incredible introduction to glassblowing, had so much fun and learnt so much, thanks to Nick, who was an excellent teacher. We each got to make a paperweight and a tumbler, and through that process learnt the basics of glassblowing, from picking up molten glass, to adding colour, using tools to shape the glass, assisting others in the class, all the while doing this safely with the oversight and help of Nick, who ensured we all made a glass paperweight and tumbler with ease. We got to pick them up the very next day, and we are definitely addicted to glassblowing now!
  • 5/5 from Paula Watson, attended Aug 2026: Such a fun class and unlike anything I've learnt before. Totally mesmerising process and now I have a cool tumbler with slightly wonky character, and a beautiful paperweight. Nick is an excellent teacher and he maintained a safe, informative, hands-on class. Definitely recommend!
  • 5/5 from Judith Watson, attended Aug 2026: I 100% recommend this class! We had such a great time this morning learning how to make a beautiful glass paperweight and tumbler. Nick was a wonderful teacher who kept us all safe while allowing us to enjoy the whole creative glassblowing experience. I cannot wait to see the items we made. A fabulous class, outside of anything I’ve done before. Thank you!

  • 5/5 from Sandra Kozmits, attended Aug 2026: Just wow. This was completely amazing. Glassblowing has been on my bucket list for a very long time and so I was very excited to find this class. Despite being a complete beginner with no idea what I was doing, I made two gorgeous pieces with Nick's knowledgeable expertise and hands on guidance. Now I am definitely interested in coming back for more!
  • 5/5 from Michelle Jepp, attended Aug 2026: We were a family of four and had a private lesson with Nick one weekend. Nick was a wonderful teacher. There was alot of information to absorb, especially around safety and technique but Nick was always on hand to direct and help in a very calm manner. Thank goodness, as my beginner technique was severely lacking. We all had a great time as a family and now have a deeper knowledge and appreciation of the design and skill of this artisan trade. The time past very quickly. Workshop was easy to find, the dog is very friendly and I would recommend to anyone who is interested.
  • 5/5 from Bernard Smith, attended May 2026: The session was really interesting and hands on. Safety was a priority and I felt in good hands. I really liked the guidance and support and enjoyed the creative, collaborative approach to the class. The gift card process was easy to navigate.

  • 5/5 from Peta Phillips, attended Apr 2026: I was given a class for my birthday but had always wanted to try glass blowing. The class was so much fun! The instructor was very clear and spent a lot of time on safety and technique and was right there to guide you and help out if you needed it. He was very knowledgeable and explained each step first. I’m definitely going to do the intermediate class next!
  • 5/5 from Alan Baxter, attended Mar 2026: Glass blowing! Don't panic - the pole is long enough tp make sure you don't burn your lips. Nick was out teacher - cheerful, relaxed, and can spot a potential injury well in advance, so you are in excellent hands. At the end of the workshop (and after a few days for your creations to cool slowly) you will have two works of art of your very own: A brilliantly functional paperweight of swirly coloured glass, and a drinking vessel that does not leak (unless you drop it). Also the workshop is filled is brilliant masterpieces that call out to you to buy them. Should you do it? Yes. Will you learn things: Absolutely. Will you enjoy it: You will be surprised how much.
  • 5/5 from Tess Kenny, attended Mar 2026: My birthday present to myself. It was a great workshop, Nick explained it all beforehand and we did a couple of practices before the real thing so we all knew what we were doing. Really enjoyed myself, did it with a great bunch of people.
  • 5/5 from Matisse Gabbert, attended Mar 2026: Thank you for a fun experience with a fancinating artform. I went solo and had a great time with my group. Our teacher was skilled and jovial, and I can't reccommend the bloke's class enough. I'll be back for more glassblowing!
  • 5/5 from Anna Gray, attended Mar 2026: What a brilliant class and teacher! Molten glass is terrifying but this intro really made it approachable. Nick was super calm and gave great instructions and support, giving us enough guidance that we could achieve the outcomes (making a paperweight and tumbler) with enough room to really feel what using the tools and processes was like (i.e. juggling a blob of molten lava on the end of a stick while trying not to burn myself, drop it, or flick it at anyone else AND trying to work it into the required shape)! I highly recommend giving it a go!
  • 5/5 from John Pavloff, attended Mar 2026: Thankyou so much for a fantastic experience learning to work with molten glass. Nick is an awesome (and very patient) teacher. Would highly recommend!
  • 5/5 from Jan Tetlow, attended Mar 2026: Nick was a wonderful teacher who provided a fun and creative learning experience. Would highly recommend.
  • 5/5 from Theresa Holt, attended Mar 2026: I went with two of my daughters and we had a blast. Nick was very patient with us and ensured that our paperweights and glasses turned out as they should, though my daughters and I were convinced we were going to mess up. We are looking forward to seeing the finished products once they finish annealing. There was another two women there and we all got along like glass on fire. Between the five of us and Nick, there was a lot of laughter and fun.
  • 5/5 from Carolyn Handley, attended Feb 2026: Just wanted to try something totally different and loved learning the basics of working with glass. The team effort when we did the glassblowing was fun but we were all committed to getting the best results every time. Nick was a terrific teacher - knowledgeable and very patient!
  • 5/5 from Adrian Gillman, attended Feb 2026: I had an amazing time at the introductory glassblowing class! Nick was a fantastic teacher — patient, funny, and incredibly knowledgeable. He made what seemed like a complex craft feel approachable and enjoyable from the very start. The session was hands-on, engaging, and well-paced. Nick explained each step clearly, guided us with expert tips, and made sure everyone walked away with something they were proud of. Watching molten glass take shape in real time was mesmerising, and actually creating my own piece was such a rewarding experience. The studio had a great atmosphere — relaxed but full of creative energy. It’s the perfect activity for anyone curious about trying something new or looking for a memorable experience to share with friends or family. Highly recommend this class and especially Nick for anyone wanting to get a feel for the art of glassblowing!
  • 5/5 from Joanne Robertson, attended Feb 2026: We had the best time at this class. Nick was a calm, patient and funny teacher and the small class size meant we all participated and supported one another. A fabulous experience we would like to repeat
  • 5/5 from Wendy Pryor, attended Feb 2026: We made a paperweight (taking turns) and then drinking glasses with four students working together. The process was fascinating and fun. The class was well structured, the teacher was helpful and knowledgeable. I loved the process of adding tiny chips of colour to molten glass and then seeing the colours stretch as the hot glass was manipulated.
  • 5/5 from Grant Satherley, attended Feb 2026: Had a great time trying out glassblowing. Nick was great teaching the basics while ensuring we had something recognisable to take home. It was a really good experience for a total beginner
  • 5/5 from Tim Hilditch, attended Feb 2026: Nick was fantastic as an instructor. The workshop was well designed to learn some of the techniques and work with others in the group. Very enjoyable experience.
  • 5/5 from Rachel Smith, attended Feb 2026: Such a fun and unique experinece! Nick was very knowledgable and extremely patient, offering gentle guidence and support (even when I started a small fire!). Working with glass is harder than it looks, but we were all made to feel really comfortable and I had an absolute blast! Definitely looking into booking in and intermediate class next and going back for more.

We can't wait to see our finished pieces. Thanks Nick. We have an absolute blast.

  • 5/5 from Noel Farmer, attended Nov 2025: Absolutely amazing teachers!
  • 5/5 from Josie Semmler, attended Oct 2025: I enjoyed doing the class. The teacher was very informative and very attentive to class members especially with safety concerns. He also had a sense of humour and kept talking us through the stages which helped as there was a lot of info to take in. Happy with the resulting take home items. There certainly is much more involved in the glass blowing process than I thought.
  • 5/5 from Katrina Wright, attended Oct 2025: Thank you so much for an incredible experience. Nick was a fantastic teacher and so calm and informative. My family bought this as a gift and I loved it. Super easy to receive the gift card and book a class. Thank you.

  • 5/5 from Tim Ridge, attended Oct 2025: Excellent class; perfectly paced. Just the right amount of detail at each step to make sure people stay engaged, alert, and intrigued by this amazing (and somewhat daunting) process. Nick’s calm guidance quickly removed any feelings of uncertainty/anxiety about making a mistake - I felt like I was in good hands - like there was no such thing as a mistake. I got a voucher for this class as a birthday gift, and it’s the best gift I’ve received in a long time.
  • 5/5 from Annemarie de Silva-Puddy, attended Oct 2025: A most enjoyable introductory session! Our teacher was fantastic (and I apologise for forgetting his name, but I believe that's him in the photo!); his relaxed and inclusive approach was great for first timers like me. I made a slightly lopsided paper weight (don't panic, it's organic!) and a glass/vase/candleholder. I would most definitely be interested to take another class.

Born and raised in Ballarat, Victoria, Nick Adams was surrounded by history and grew up visiting one of the best collections of Australian Art at the Art Gallery of Ballarat.

Coming from a family of artists; Adams was encouraged from a young age to practice a wide range of artistic mediums and go to galleries and exhibitions of amazing collections.
While attending Ballarat Grammar School, Adams began to experiment with many different mediums; only after being introduced to glass by his ceramics teacher did he truly begin to play and experiment with the material. While still in school, he attended several short courses offered by Monash University; this being his first experiences with molten glass.
Adams then went to Australian Nation University where he studied in the Glass Workshop. After being shown many techniques; including how to make murrini, Adams saw the pixelated qualities they offered and the wide range of images that he could create using the process. His first murrini was a “Pokéball” as part of the class and then he continued to make murrini with varying levels of success, all revolving around the theme of pixilation and video games.
Working at the Canberra Glassworks as an assistant and technician, Adams continued his obsession with murrini and blown glass.
After relocating back to Victoria, Adams has found his home and team in r.a.g.e. Melbourne, and is dedicated to teaching Glassblowing.
