Tasmanian Landscape Photography Course

A photography retreat, where ancient moss meets the edge of the world

7 x 24 hours Class size 1 to 6 guests

  $3,999 - $4,999 ($3,999 for Double Room; $4,999 for Single Room)

This photography course in Tasmania runs over seven days and involves overnight stays, making it feel like a creative retreat.
Itinerary
  • Day 1: Morning arrival at Launceston Airport. We'll head to Launceston City for a brief look and lunch, before heading out to Arthurs Lake. At Arthurs Lake, we'll do an afternoon shoot. If the evening is clear, we may come back after dinner for some astrophotography.
  • Day 2: A dawn sunrise shoot at Arthurs Lake, followed by breakfast, then a leisurely 3-hour drive to Strahan. We'll stop for lunch in Queenstown via Nelson Falls, then finish off with a spectacular sunset if we are lucky with the weather. If the night sky is clear, we may even snag a few star shots.
  • Day 3: After breakfast, we have a short drive to Corinna. A car barge will take us across the Pieman River to our home for the next two nights. There are various walks and drives nearby to waterfalls and ancient trees.
  • Day 4: Pieman River Cruise for an extra fee ($65). We will cruise for 1.5 hours up the river to the ocean at sunrise. Along the river, we will see a plethora of tree species in the heritage-listed rainforest of the Tarkine.
  • Day 5, 6 & 7: After breakfast in Corinna, we will head to the rugged, windswept Tarkine coast to explore the jagged rocks and salt bush grass hills that are dotted around Arthurs River. A cluster of sea stacks are only a short drive to areas such as Couta Rocks and Sarah Anne Rocks. If we are lucky with clear skies, we may be able to shoot some astrophotography timed perfectly for a new moon and some Milky Way action.

  • Watching the sunset on the west coast of Strahan.
  • River Cruise in the Tarkine.
  • Astrophotography wherever possible.
