I’m an absolute beginner and I feel so grateful to have had such a kind, patient, encouraging teacher who was happy to take me through the basics and didn’t make me feel like an idiot. By the end of the class I had a better idea of how to troubleshoot some of the difficulties I was having and I’d been able to take a couple of photos I was happy with. As a woman, I’ve previously had negative experiences in classes where male instructors have just started taking photos of me on their cameras without asking my permission which has made me really uncomfortable and made it hard to focus on learning. Chris was completely respectful and even when the kittens we were photographing were climbing on my lap he didn’t so much as point his camera at me. I really appreciated his manner and approach along with his knowledge and can’t recommend him more highly.

Very polite and well mannered, was a delight to have spent time with. Can't recommend enough.

My only issue was unclear information initially about the class location. Luckily Stef messaged me the day before so I got the correct location. Thanks for a great day. I have lots to practice now.

We wasted no time in establishing what we would cover during the session, and dove straight in to the practical. It has given me the confidence to start experimenting with my camera.

He took me through the manual settings of my DSLR, gave me equipment suggestions, showed me how to use Lightroom to edit photos, and gave me some great tips for how to conduct a successful shoot. Would recommend this class to anyone who wants to learn specific skills or wants to become more familiar with your camera and get a bit of photography confidence!

I was a little disappointed that the weather turned bad but this gave us an opportunity to sit down and talk about camera settings. I learnt things about my camera that I didn't know about. All in all it was a great 3 hours and I would rebook next time I visit Sydney. Thanks Chris.

I have no prior training in photography or art and so it was fascinating for me to learn from Chris about the way a photo should be composed and what I should look out for. Chris was patient in his explanation and made the lesson interesting and stressless.
