Whether you're planning a catch-up with friends, a date, a birthday celebration, a hens party, or simply looking for a fun afternoon out, our Sip and Bead workshops are designed for everyone, with no experience or creative skills required.
Unlike traditional bead workshops, we've carefully curated a premium collection of materials, so every design feels personal. Choose from hundreds of beautiful glass beads, freshwater pearls, handmade African trade beads, handmade clay beads, and charms to create jewellery that reflects your own style. No plastic beads... ever!
One of the things that makes our workshops so special is our ever-changing collection of hand-selected vintage and preloved glass beads. We spend countless hours sourcing beautiful treasures from op shops, markets, and vintage collections, with every bead personally selected, thoroughly cleaned, and ready to become part of a brand-new piece of jewellery. It means you'll often discover colours, shapes, and styles that simply aren't available from standard bead suppliers.
Don’t worry, not all beads are sourced second-hand. Our speciality and statement pieces are sourced new from trusted suppliers, including glass, freshwater pearls, handmade African trade beads, and curated artisan designs.
You'll also choose from three different stringing options, allowing you to customise both the look and durability of your jewellery.
Throughout the workshop, we'll guide you step-by-step as you learn professional finishing techniques and create pieces you'll be proud to wear. Whether you're dreaming of an everyday necklace, a colourful charm piece, a daisy necklace (we'll teach you how to create the perfect daisies out of beads), layered designs, or something completely your own, we'll help bring your ideas to life.

Please note: Our Mermaid Beach studio is located on Level 1 and is accessible by stairs only. If stairs may be difficult to navigate, we’d love to bring the experience to you through our mobile workshop service, where we can create a comfortable jewellery-making experience at your chosen location.

FAQ

Can I bring my own beads or charms to add to my piece?
You’re welcome to bring any beads or charms from home to add into your piece on the day. Please note the workshop price remains the same, as all materials, tools and inclusions are fully provided.
Will my piece be waterproof?
I don’t like to use the term “waterproof” when it comes to jewellery, as all jewellery no matter the material should be cared for to keep it looking its best. Different types of water (salt water, chlorine, hot water, soaps and chemicals) can all affect materials in different ways over time. That said, your piece is made using quality components designed for everyday wear, and if it does get wet occasionally, it will be completely fine. We simply recommend treating your jewellery with care avoiding harsh chemicals and removing it before swimming or showering, sleeping, exercising when possible, to help it stay beautiful for longer.
How long is the workshop?
The workshop runs for approximately 1.5-2 hours, depending on how many pieces you choose to create.

Can I take my jewellery home on the day?
Yes! You will complete and take home your finished jewellery at the end of the workshop.
What if I want to make more than one piece?

Can I bring my own drinks?
Yes, this is a BYO drinks workshop (18+ for alcohol). Soft drinks and non-alcoholic options are also welcome.
Is food provided?
Yes, a complimentary grazing board is included to enjoy during your session.

Yes! We host private bookings for birthdays, hens parties, corporate events and group celebrations, baby showers!
