Make a Sea Glass Necklace with Sterling Silver in the Macedon Ranges.

2.5 hours Class size 1 to 5 guests

$220 - $225 ($225 per guest when you book for 1 guest, $220/guest for 2+ guests) (Afterpay available)

In our exciting Sea Glass Jewellery Making Class, you will discover how to transform beautiful, colourful sea glass into a unique necklace from scratch using a variety of tools and sterling silver, all guided by jeweller Sarah Munnings. This class is designed for beginners but is also suitable for someone who wants to learn the tricks of working with bezel settings in silver or generally improve their silversmithing skills.
In this silver jewellery workshop, you will start off by choosing a piece of sea glass from Sarah's collection that you want to feature in your necklace. You will then be guided to make a bezel setting for it. You will learn to design, cut, solder, and burnish your silver pendant, all while Sarah gives you advice about how to enhance the natural beauty of your piece of glass and the design of your piece. Once complete, you will have the choice to put it on a necklace or make a lariat-style necklace, which is completely adjustable.

Sarah Munnings

Sarah Munnings

Sarah Munnings was working in the corporate world of finance and when she was struck down by a devastating mystery illness. Tests, more tests, and months of trips to doctors led to the diagnoses of Fibromyalgia (a chronic pain condition). This led to Sarah to rediscover her creativity as her own personal form of rehabilitation and become a self-taught jeweller who developed a table top jewellery practice in her kitchen.

She now teaches others the amazing creations that can be made using copper, silver and brass. She uses traditional techniques of forging, soldering and texturing metal, and is passionate about using tools that are easily accessible so that her guests at workshops can continue their journey of discovery at home.
