Learn how to turn your favourite holiday memories into watercolour paintings

3 hours Location Hamilton Class size 1 to 10 guests   $120 (Afterpay available)

Learn how to create a travel watercolour journal so that you can capture your favourite travel memories. During this painting workshop, you will learn how to sketch, outline and watercolour paint landscapes from your own travels.
No artistic experience is required. You will be guided through how to translate an image into a simple sketch, outline it with a fine-tip pen, and bring it to life using watercolours.
During this workshop, you will receive your own watercolour journal and learn the fundamentals of sketching and using watercolours. By the end, you will have a journal filled with the techniques you learned and a finished painting to take home. This means you can continue to document your future travels and paint on the go!
This workshop will be held in a relaxing and supportive environment where you can unleash your creativity and enjoy an afternoon of art. As an added bonus, afternoon tea will be provided so you can relax and fuel your artistic inspiration.

  • 4/5 from K Bento, attended Nov 2025: In short, the class was supportive. Melody offered insights and techniques and was very friendly. I learned a lot and was happy with my painting. There seemed to be presumed background knowledge, with most students having done watercolors before and happy to work independently. That said, Melody answered all my beginner questions and I was pleased with my sketch and the process. The ‘light lunch’ consisted of a piece of watermelon, a small cookie, and a sliver of capsicum + sliver of carrot with hummus.
  • 5/5 from Merrin Pilditch, attended Sep 2025: My dad and I did this course over the weekend. Was such a lovely way to spend the day. Melody is just wonderful and she created such a warm and inviting space for us to learn and feel creative. As a complete beginner, I found her approach easy to follow and supportive and she is just so talented. I really enjoyed the whole experience and look forward to more relaxing days spent watercolouring. Thanks so much Melody! I'll be back for another class in future for sure!
