Join us to learn how to make one of Southeast Asia’s most beloved traditional desserts, Ondeh Ondeh. These authentic and delightful bite-sized treats are made from soft glutinous rice flour and sweet potato dough with pandan, filled with rich palm sugar (gula melaka), and coated with freshly grated coconut.
In this hands-on workshop, you will learn how to make the dough from scratch before shaping and filling each ball with gula melaka. You will then cook the Ondeh Ondeh to perfection and learn the techniques for achieving their soft, chewy texture and signature molten palm sugar centre.
Once cooked, the Ondeh Ondeh will be rolled in freshly grated coconut lightly seasoned with a pinch of salt, creating the perfect balance of sweet and savoury flavours. You will enjoy tasting your creations and take home your handmade Ondeh Ondeh to share with family and friends.
This workshop is suitable for beginners and anyone interested in exploring the flavours and traditions of Southeast Asian desserts.

Taste N See
Taste N See is a social enterprise creating handmade artisan Southeast Asian desserts (Kuih) that taste good and do good. Inspired by heritage flavours, we celebrate culture, preserve traditions, and create social impact.
We exist to bring hope, compassion, and support to vulnerable young people who are ready to change the course of their lives.
Our work goes beyond making desserts. We also run hands-on cooking classes and community programs that give opportunities for young people to learn, grow, and thrive. Every class you join helps build confidence, develop practical life skills, and empower young people to reach their potential.
About Me
My name is Ruth, and I am the founder of Taste N See.
I bring together my passion for heritage food and my commitment to making a positive difference in the community. With a background in early childhood studies and experience as a volunteer youth mentor, I have seen the importance of encouragement, connection, and practical support in helping young people navigate life's challenges.
Through Taste N See, I combine my love for baking and teaching to do more than share traditional heritage kuih. Every cooking class and every sale helps fund programs that support vulnerable young people. My hope is to be a steady presence in their lives—offering a taste of hope, helping them build confidence, develop practical life skills, and discover their potential.
Taste N See was built on the belief that food has the power to connect people, preserve culture, and create opportunities for growth. Through cooking classes, community programs, and shared meals, I strive to create welcoming spaces where young people can learn, belong, and thrive.
