Cuting Glass
Guests will choose from a range of patterns and a variety of glass colours and textures. Cut glass carefully according to pattern.
Assemble with Lead
Cut lead and assemble the window
Solder
Solder the lead at each Junction using a soldering iron
Putty and Patina
Press linseed putty in between the glass and lead to provide structural strength to the window, then apply a chemical patina.
Finished
Your leadlight will take a few days to dry, but can be taken home at the end of the session!

Wander through a space adorned with oddities, curiosities, and trinkets that capture the imagination. It’s in this enchanting setting that I offer a range of art classes designed to inspire and delight.I’m Glen (they/them), an artist, business owner, and teacher based in Naarm. My journey in the arts began over a decade ago in the film and TV industry, where I honed my skills in prop making, set construction, and art finishing. In my own art practice, I’ve worked with a diverse range of mediums, including oil paints, leadlight, glass, charcoal, electronics, clay, and concrete.For three years, I managed a recycled materials art resource center, providing educators with art lessons and materials. It was here that my passion for teaching truly blossomed. I taught a variety of workshops, including hand-building ceramics, carpentry for kids, gardening, and kokedama making. I first discovered my love for leadlighting in high school and have since created windows for exhibitions and gifts. In 2021, I deepened my expertise in leadlighting by working at a leadlight window studio, where I trained on the job.At Chichi Botanicals, my initial workshop offering will be leadlighting classes, with more options to follow soon.I’m excited to teach, learn, and create alongside the wonderful community here.
