- There is a theme set each month such as tropical, slices, cupcakes, winter warmer.
- You bake/make/create a dessert that fits the theme. It does not need to be cake.
- Bring your dessert to Cake Lovers Club. Here we’ll share the dessert and you’ll tell us what inspired you to make it.
- We’re not really going to get technical about baking. This is for home bakers. Professional cake makers are very welcome, but we ask you to leave your professional hat at the door and come purely as a cake lover and chance to bake something new, with no pressure for it to be perfect.
- We’ll eat cake, we’ll chat about the theme, we can swap recipes if you want to share.
- You take home leftovers. So if there is one dessert you love to death, take a slice. Didn’t get to try them all? Take a slice!

Hi I'm Carli and I'm a cake teacher.I grew up in Perth, in a house where my mum made delicious treats every weekend from scratch.I’m talking vanilla slice, chocolate eclairs, fairy cakes, cinnamon scrolls. Really, I could go on.I got diagnosed with a nut allergy at 19, and it kind of flipped my dessert world upside down. I knew I would have to learn to bake for myself to enjoy safe treats and satisfy that sweet tooth.My dream became a reality when I studied at TAFE and ran a successful home baking business for many years, baking safe treats for all occasions. I then discovered a love of teaching. I’d once planned to study a dip Ed and go into teaching so I guess it makes sense, but wowee, do I get a buzz out of it!I have a passion for food and I LOVE sharing my baking tips with others so they too can create delicious memories with loved ones. I’m not sure there’s anything better than sitting down and savouring some home-baked treats, so I want to pass that on to as many people as I can.I am also about making baking easy and fitting in around your life/health/kids. Baking doesn’t need to be overly complicated or mean needing more tools that you know what to do with. I’m all about simplicity.
